               Flash Player is a cross-platform, browser-based application runtime that provides uncompromised viewing of expressive applications, content, and videos across browsers and operating systems.

                    Adobe Flash Player 11.6 has been released and is available for download. As we already mentioned in the Flash Player 11.5 article, Adobe is moving towards the rapid beta release cycle. They will be using background update feature. This means that If you have installed Flash Player 11.6 in beta, all subsequent releases will automatically be downloaded and installed on your computer.



Some of the features of Flash Player 11.6 are:

• The full screen permission dialog UI has been moved to the center of the screen and a Cancel button has been added.
• Now developers can read the structure of the display object and vector data at runtime. This will help Flash game developers to use complex sprite sheets at runtime.
• Multiple SWF support has been added to the iOS Flash app.

The complete release notes can be read from here. Please note that the ActiveX installer of Flash Player 11.6 is not yet compatible with Windows 8. You will still need to rely on version 11.5 in Windows 8.

Please note that Flash Player 11.6 is still in beta. You should not install it on a production system. We will update this article once the final version is released.
